International trade in forest products is an important element the economies of the U.S. and Washington State. Indroneil brings his background in business administration and public policy management and his work for government and non-governmental organizations in India to bear on the development of innovative market forecast models for the global trade of forest products.
He received his PhD from UW College of Forest Resources in 2008, and works with CINTRAFOR, where his research interests range from exploring the potential of international markets to analyzing domestic markets and developing visual tools to aid positioning and market segmentation by forest industries. His co-authored publications for CINTRAFOR have included analyses of the use and awareness of environmentally certified wood by residential homebuilders, the U.S. decking market, material substitution for residential homebuilders, and the potential for the U.S. wood industry in the Indian market. He also assisted in the economic contribution chapter in the College of Forest Resources "The Future of Washington's Forests and Forestry Industries" report, funded by the Washington State Legislature. When not working on his research, he offers consultation on the benefits of cutting edge analytical marketing tools to researchers and managers in the fields of forest products and residential construction.
