Tom is a native
to the Pacific Northwest, living most his life in Washington state. He grew up
in the timber and sawmill industry, having invested over 20 years of his life
as an owner/operator of his family sawmills. Tom received his Bachelor’s Degree
from the University of Oregon in 1969 and a Juris Doctorate from Willamette
University College of Law in 1972. In addition to his years in the forest
products business, Tom has over 10 years experience as a practicing attorney.
From pulling
lumber off the green chain as a youngster, to building and running a high
technology sawmill, Tom has gained a deep understanding of the manufacturing
process, back office management and wood products marketing.
As the first
Executive Director of the Evergreen Partnership, Tom has led several successful
international wood products marketing initiatives, having received local,
national and international recognition for his efforts.
Today, Tom serves as co-founder, President and CEO of World Wide Wood Network, Ltd., an e-Commerce wood products company that is dedicated to delivering information and supply chain management tools that significantly advance the efficient distribution of product and information for the North American Wood Products Industry.
