Orawin Velz is a
senior economist at Fannie Mae. She is responsible for producing Fannie Mae’s
macroeconomic forecast of the economy, interest rates, and the housing and
mortgage finance markets, as well as analyzing economic and housing policy
issues.
Prior to joining
Fannie Mae, she was a managing director of research at the National Association
of Realtors, where she managed forecasting, policy analysis and market
statistics departments. She was also an
economist the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Velz received
her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Connecticut.
