Michael O’Halloran, President, WWPA, Portland, OR

Michael O’Halloran has been the President of the Western Wood Products Association since 1999 where he is responsible for the overall management and direction of the company. Prior to WWPA, he was with APA – The Engineered Wood Association for over 20 years holding several positions such as Director of the Technical Services Division and Executive Vice President of the Engineered Wood Systems.

Mr. O’Halloran attended Colorado State University where he earned all of his degrees, including his bachelor’s in Wood Science, master’s in Wood Mechanics and a Ph.D. in Wood Engineering. He has over 40 publications, unpublished presentations and internal reports and has been a member of such organizations as the American Society of Testing and Material, the International Standards Organization and the Committee CIB W18 on Timber Engineering. He has also served as past President of the Forest Products Society.
