Robert (Butch) Bernhardt, Jr .is the information services director for Western Wood Products Association in Portland, Ore. His responsibilities include overseeing the Association's product support, lumber education, communications and international promotion activities.

Since 1984, Bernhardt has served as the WWPA spokesman before regional, national and international media and the public. As the association's chief communications professional, he has authored and edited numerous WWPA publications and reports.

Bernhardt holds a bachelor's degree in technical journalism and business administration from Oregon State University and he is the third generation to work in the wood products industry.
